Talented and charismatic, the Italian stole the hearts of thousands of followers with his skills on the track. Entering the GP races in 1996, he won the 125cc World Championship in 97, the 250cc in 1999 and the 500cc in 2001.
With his incredible riding skills, clever tactics and incredible consistency, he became the king of MotoGP. Or rather, it became: “The Doctor”.
